Geared to the home-schooled child, these hands-on and engaging programs offer a supportive and individualized approach to arts education. Students create at their own pace and level and are encouraged to make choices and contribute to the artistic process. High-quality art lessons and materials, combined with the latest studio approaches, are tied in to themes and subject matter from history, literature, science, social science and the environment. The Artist's Workshop (Gr. 1-8)In this hands-on class, participants will be exposed to a variety of visual art mediums from painting and drawing to clay, sculpture and mixed media, as well as drama exercises and cooperative games. Many approaches will be explored, while students enjoy using a multitude of artist's materials and techniques. The elements of design will be taught and focus will be on developing the individual's creative ideas and concepts. Monday 9:30-11:30 am (Gr. 1-4)
