Discounts
Students who register in the fall for a minimum of one class in each of the fall, winter & spring terms will be entitled to a 5% discount off one winter & one spring class. ARAS Members in good standing receive an additional discount. Get the details.
Payment Plans
Payment plans can be arranged for those registering for more than one term or for those registering more than one family member in one term. Acting for Film & TV (Gr. 3-9)

If you've always wanted to be on television or on film, then this class is for you! Through improvisation, students will gain a better understanding of creating a character, working with a script and having a great on-camera presence. Each term will offer different skill-building exercises and will continue to prepare students for performing and auditioning. The class will produce a short on-camera piece every semester and copies will be given to each participant.

Drama Workshop (SK-Gr. 8)

For the young performer or actor wanting to learn more about the techniques needed to perform in productions, this class will give students the opportunity to develop skills, work with theatre professionals and have fun in a supportive class setting. Improvisation, theatre games, character development and the use of voice and movement are all part of this dynamic acting program. Students are encouraged to join for more than one term as the class will work together to create a different presentation at the end of each session.

Exploring Drama & Musical Theatre (Gr. 1-8)

Students will enjoy exploring drama and musical theatre in this performance-based class. Using improvisation, drama exercises, vocal and movement studies and script work, performers will develop and work on creating a show as their final performance. Parents and friends will enjoy the final presentation, which will incorporate popular numbers from musical theatre in a truly unique and inventive presentation. As the shows are student-inspired, show content will vary term by term.

Musical Theatre Workshop (Gr. 1-8)

For the child who is addicted to High School Musical, Camp Rock or Glee and for the young performer who knows all the words to musical pieces from The Sound of Music, Annie or Chicago, this class is the perfect outlet. Students will develop and work on vocal techniques and choreography while preparing and performing numbers from many popular musicals. Using improvisation, drama exercises, vocal and movement studies and script work, young performers will learn how to perform specifically for musical theatre and develop and work on a presentation as a final performance. Music, choreography and shows will vary term by term and therefore students are encouraged to join term after term.

ARAS Musical Theatre Company (Gr. 8-12)

This is a class for students who are serious about learning the skills required to perform in musical theatre. Singing, voice work, choreography, movement, improvisation and character development will be incorporated in this performance-based class designed in a professional, company setting format. This is a year-long program with the cast working on two productions at a professional theatre venue. Students may choose to register for the full year and participate in both shows or registration will also be accepted for one production alone. Students must audition if new to the program.
