Choose a month:January | February | March | April | May March 2010Workshops for AdultsIntro to Drama for AdultsThursday, March 4 & 11, 6:30-9:30 pm Have you always wanted to try an acting class but don't want to commit to a lengthy program? This fun and creative workshop is open to anyone who would like to develop their creativity, work on presentation skills, learn about spontaneity and improvisational techniques and have a fun and stress-releasing evening.
Includes all materials Using the Photographic Image in your WorkSunday, March 7, 10:00 am-4:00 pm Here is a rare opportunity to participate in a workshop that will help you use photographic images as your subject matter, in a very comprehensive and detailed way. Participants will experience an inspiring lecture on what to look for in a good photographic image and learn how this accomplished artist uses photography in her own painted work. Students will learn how to get their image down on paper without needing any previous drawing skills. In the end, students will have an opportunity to create a monotone painting of the image using watercolour paint.
Students provide their own materials The Landscape Painter's WorkshopThursday, March 25, 10:00 am-4:00 pm This intensive workshop is designed for students with previous painting experience, who are interested in further developing their skills in landscape studies. Working from a photo reference, students will hone their abilities, incorporating studies in composition, perspective, fore-/mid-/background and landmark representation, colour mixing and paint application to achieve harmony, contrast and a sense of depth. Students may choose to paint in either oils or acrylics.
Students provide their own materials Painting in SpanishMonday, March 29, 1:00-4:00 pm ¡Ven y únete a nosotros para una tarde de diversión! Come and spend a relaxing and fun afternoon at the Avenue Road Arts School and get a rare chance to practice your Spanish skills while learning how to paint. For the beginner or great as a refresher, this unique program will allow you to paint in a non-judgmental and enjoyable environment. Students will learn about colour, paint application and handling, composition as well as the brainstorming of creative ideas. All students will complete a painting.
