Discounts
Students who register in the fall for a minimum of one class in each of the fall, winter & spring terms will be entitled to a 5% discount off one winter & one spring class. ARAS Members in good standing receive an additional discount. Get the details.
Payment Plans
Payment plans can be arranged for those registering for more than one term or for those registering more than one family member in one term. Acting for Film & TV (Gr. 8-12)

If you've always wanted to be on television or on film, then this class is for you! Through improvisation, students will gain a better understanding of creating a character, working with a script and having a great on-camera presence. Each term will present different skill-building exercises and will continue to prepare students for performing and auditioning. The class will produce a short on-camera piece every semester and copies will be given to each participant.

Broadway Showtunes

Get ready for the most fun you've had in years! This course is for people who want to experience the joy of singing their favourite showtunes along with other people. Enjoy the hits from Oklahoma, West Side Story, Annie, Cats, Les Misérables. Requests are always welcomed. Singing experience not necessary.
- The class takes place at the First Unitarian Church, located at 175 St. Clair West.

Drama Studies for Beginners

Give your imagination a blast of spontaneity! Learn how to better use your observation, concentration, creativity and quick thinking skills. In this course students are introduced to the basics of acting in a supportive environment. Participants will develop the techniques needed for acting through script study, improvisation and theatre exercises, exploring character development and voice work. Students will learn how to bring a scene to life through both solo and group work. Whether you want to act or are looking for new and inventive ways to improve communication and presentation skills or just want a creative outlet to relax and have fun, this hands-on practical approach is sure to get the creative juices flowing. Each term ends with the opportunity to present work within the classroom to fellow participant

Let's Sing Out

Here's your chance to sing the songs you miss from the 50's, 60's and 70's. The great songs of the Kingston Trio, Simon and Garfunkle, Gordon Lightfoot, Bob Dylan, Carole King and Burt Bacharach are all yours for the singing – not to mention a few standards from Elvis, the Beatles and just about any other great group you can name.
